Into the wild

I don't think I've ever come across a movie that has made me question the way I and society live, but Into The Wild has done it and then some.

Based on the true story of Christopher McCandless the movie follows his pursuit to shed himself from what society has thrust upon him and his cracked home-life. As soon as Chris (played by Emile Hirsch) graduates he gives his $24,000 of savings to a charity and heads off into the unknown, with mainly books and simple necessities.

Along his journey he meets many splendid people and in attempting to alter his life, he alters theirs.
Throughout the movie there are so many mind-blowingly powerful quotes (like the ones below) that really make you think.

Chris' adventure ultimately takes him to Alaska, where the movie takes a saddening turn.

This movie is easily one of the most powerful, heart-wrenching and thought provoking movie I have ever watched. I'm not sure if you've seen it but it is truly one of a kind.

Several well-known actors also make an appearance such as Vince Vaughn - although I am not a fan he offers a performance unlike any I have witnessed from him and Kristen Stewart, who gives one of her more believable roles.

Just please, watch it.

" No phone. No pool. No pets. No cigarettes. Ultimate freedom... No longer to be poisoned by civilisation, he flees, and walks alone upon the land to become Lost In The Wild. "
