Le Artiste

[artworks sourced here/ room shots sourced here]

So you may have noticed, considering this is my second post on the topic, but I have a special place in my heart for Sara Blake. I did a rather vague post about her quite a while ago and I don't think I really did justice to her talent.

However, this post is mainly about her pad, which is oh so dreamy. Thanks to Agency Magma, who took the photos, now everyone can get an insight into how the artist decorates.

I'm not sure about you but I don't think there is a corner of her space I'm not loving.

Check out Sarah's website for more.

Wild foxes

Lately I've been finding so many great musicians that I find it hard to share them all with you, I think  the solution might be to create a music blog. But I'm still unsure.

Louisa Rose Allen, who goes by the name Foxes, isn't simply just another pretty voice and pretty face, there is real talent in what she sings and how she sings it.

At 18 Louisa followed her sister to London in the hopes of furthering her music career, although her schooling didn't quite work out she came out with her debut 'Youth' a few years later and has since been the talk of the town.

There is something about her soaring vocals that are pleasing to the ears, but it really isn't a surprise that they are.

Listen to her track 'White Coats' below and for more her Facebook is your best bet.

Into the wild

I don't think I've ever come across a movie that has made me question the way I and society live, but Into The Wild has done it and then some.

Based on the true story of Christopher McCandless the movie follows his pursuit to shed himself from what society has thrust upon him and his cracked home-life. As soon as Chris (played by Emile Hirsch) graduates he gives his $24,000 of savings to a charity and heads off into the unknown, with mainly books and simple necessities.

Along his journey he meets many splendid people and in attempting to alter his life, he alters theirs.
Throughout the movie there are so many mind-blowingly powerful quotes (like the ones below) that really make you think.

Chris' adventure ultimately takes him to Alaska, where the movie takes a saddening turn.

This movie is easily one of the most powerful, heart-wrenching and thought provoking movie I have ever watched. I'm not sure if you've seen it but it is truly one of a kind.

Several well-known actors also make an appearance such as Vince Vaughn - although I am not a fan he offers a performance unlike any I have witnessed from him and Kristen Stewart, who gives one of her more believable roles.

Just please, watch it.

" No phone. No pool. No pets. No cigarettes. Ultimate freedom... No longer to be poisoned by civilisation, he flees, and walks alone upon the land to become Lost In The Wild. "
