Da da da dah

[image is not my own, the ripe.com.au]

I feel terrible in only posting this story now, but a few weeks ago I saw the outrageously indie band San Cisco sing their hearts out at the Corner Hotel. Considering how utterly amazing they were I even feel guilty for mentioning it so late!

It feels like ages ago now but back on the 2nd of May, before the weather got really chilly, me and several friends headed to Richmond for some awesome music.

Fremantle band San Cisco were shot to fame when their song "Awkward" featured on Triple J and the 3-minute music clip to accompany it hit over 1 million views.

A few of my favourite things

Instead of doing the University homework that I was supposed to do during the week, I had a mini-movie marathon with some of my favourite movies. These are simply a few of the movies that make me smile, laugh out loud, clutch the armrest and sob into the cushions. Hopefully they do the same for you.

 1. 500 Days of Summer

Zooey Deschanel and her quirky persona in itself is enough reason to watch this little wonder, but the magnetism that Marc Webb creates with this film is a huge drawing card also. With each one of the 500 days Tom goes through they are no doubt a moment we've all experienced, granted Tom is incredibly unlucky in experiencing them all at once but we can't help but shamefully nod at the acknowledgement that we too have been in his exact situation.

WATCH IF: You've just found the other side of a terrible relationship and want to smile.

Thank you

{image is not my own}

I just wanted to say to you all: Thank you
I was doing my usual internet routine, when I clicked on my blog and saw a wonderful 10,000 visits pop onto my screen.
Now I know it isn't a huge figure in the blogging world but I'm simply happy that after taking this seriously over the past couple of months it's paying off.
So thank you for bearing with me.

A life spent reading

{photo is not my own}

"If I write well enough, hopefully I can introduce you to a feeling you have never felt before"
Unknown

As I'm getting more and more into the literary world I feel my "to-read-list" is growing to a preposterous amount.

After perusing through the wondrous books that Readings in Hawthorne has to offer, the list has grown once again.

The new additions to my list are:
I was told there would be cake - Sloane Crosley
The Year of Magical Thinking - Joan Didion
You'll be sorry when I'm dead - Marieke Hardy
The light of day - Graham Swift
Even silence has an end - Ingrid Betancourt

I haven't managed to read the books already on my list, so hopefully somehow I'll manage to get into these! They are all fabulous books in their own right, I suggest you read them and let me know how they are! :)

Time for sleep

It's that time of year again where Winter is showing it's chilly face.
Everyone sees this as a terrible 3 months out of the year, but I consider it something different.
These are the months were we sit nestled up with family and friends with a hot chocolate clasped between our hands.
Meals are heavier and packed with taste.
The months where comfort and warmth become the fashionable thing and there's no longer the need to worry about how your body looks.
If anything that extra fat will help you out in the colder months.

I only wish it snowed where I lived, so I could truly embrace a white Winter.
